The Swiss-Portuguese company Mobyfly, in partnership with the Chambre de Commerce, d’Industrie et de Services Suisse-Portugal based in Geneva and chaired by Marina Prévost-Mürier, successfully presented the prototype of the electric boat MBFY10 at the Marina do Freixo, in Porto, on September 10th. The event was attended by the General Consul of Switzerland in Porto, Doris Kunz, as well as important strategic partners and investors.
Founded in 2020 in Switzerland, Mobyfly established a branch in Portugal in 2022, consolidating its presence in both countries.
The MBFY10, the result of two years of joint research between INESC TEC and Mobyfly, represents a milestone in nautical innovation, promising energy efficiency up to 80% higher than current diesel ferries. In addition to electric propulsion, the boat incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as a hydrofoil system for improved hydrodynamics.
With production scheduled to start this year in Portugal, the MBFY10 already has a customer and a signed contract, demonstrating the great market potential of this innovative solution.
The Chambre de Commerce, d’Industrie et de Services Suisse-Portugal celebrates another Swiss-Portuguese project that strengthens economic ties and collaboration between the two countries.
We invite you to meet the visionary founders of Mobyfly, Sue Putallaz, Ricardo Bencatel and Anders Bringdal, to learn more about the MBFY10 project at the International Real Estate, Investment and Tourism Fair (www.siit-swiss.ch).
